www.datamanagers.org is a custom web application built by Savitr in a very short span of time. The client a Miami based insurance company wanted an extensive web application which enables sales agents to sell financial products on the web and track the status of the same. This is a typical workflow application tailored to meet the needs of the insurance sales industry.

The application lets sales people sell insurance and finance packages online. The package has been developed to accommodate the needs of customers, insurance agents, distributors and the administrator. The customer side of the application allows customers view various insurance packages and submit the required details. The details and the premiums vary based on the insurance package selected and the customers can make online payments.

The application is more extensive in its back end in that it provides a flexible and robust mechanism for the administrator to create and manage a sales channel. The administrator can create multiple insurance products. The administrator can further create distributors and allot some or all the insurance products to the distributors.

Commissions based on volume, type of product can be set by the administrator to various distributors. The administrator has the ability to track and configure payments for credit cards and ACH accounts. The administrator can transfer commissions using his/her bank account directly to the distributor’s bank accounts using ACH processing mechanism.

These configurations and tracking were developed taking into consideration all the business rules and exceptions that are typical to this vertical. The administrator has detailed reports and search mechanisms to track payments, performance of distributors and the success of each product created.

The distributors can further create and manage their own agents, allot products and also set commissions to the various sales agents. The distributor can also change the look and feel of the application and include his own visual display to suit his taste to give a unique look to his site. The distributor can also sell online and has access to all the features of the admin except product creation.

This whole concept is given a further fillip by providing functionality wherein the sales agents can modify /custom create the look and feel of their sites so that they can attract customers in their own unique way. The sales agents have the provision of entering sale details offline and online and can track their own performance.

All the users can manage the content and the visual display of their individual web sites without recourse to any technical help

Savitr has the challenge of developing this application in a very short span of time and Savitr proved equal to the challenge thanks to its strong processes and skills. The application was built using ASP with SQL 2000 as its back end.
